SAOTOME IYEHISA

62--plate JUJI KABUTO, signed SAOYOME IYEHISA.


Typical of the Saotome school, excellent fitting and forging, the plates are slightly embossed between the suji, double front plate and washer under under the front rivet.

5-lame shikoro made of steel, lacquered black, the bottom plate being covered with waffled leather with accents of gold leaf.

There were 2 smiths who signed Iyehisa, this being the 2nd one of the mid=Edo period. He is the son of the 8th Saotome master, Iyenaga.
